Three Hares Stained Glass

This is a beautiful new stained glass window by Sadie Covenrty using my Three Hares design she has cleverly converted it to glass for a customer who wanted a green background for it instead of blue and I think it looks really good. If you would like Sadie to make one for you then please look at her website www.stainedglasseffects.com  It was framed by my husband.

BRIDFORD INN

The Bridford Inn has a lovely new sign using the Three Hares as there is one carved in the church in Bridford. We had an excellent Sunday lunch there with the tastiest lamb ever!

CHAGFORD Three Hares Logo

This watercolour of the Three Hares shows one hare made out of wood to represent the wooden church bosses that we have in Chagford. One hare made of tin to represent the 'Tinners Rabbits' of Chagford and the third hare made of granite to represent Chagford today. The poem I have written around it reads:-
Once Tinners Rabbits
Now hares of granite
Their meaning a mystery
Obscured by history
Some carved in wood
Some made of clay
Some easy to find
Others hidden away
The three hares of Chagford
Are there to be found
Ears joined together
Going round and around.

New Three Hares Logo

Now officially the logo of Chagford, I have been working on a new image for Chagford and have painted the hares to resemble Granite as this seems appropiate, I have kept the image simple and in a soft blue grey.

Kelly

We have just been back to visit St Mary's church at Kelly. This is the furthest west on my Three Hares Trail and is such a pretty and remote place. The church is predominately a soft green colour the granite being tinged with lichen and the graveyard is a delight being full of wildflowers with snowdrops and masses of wild dafodills just ready to burst into flower! Inside the church you will see two Three Hare carvings, one a new copy of the ancient wooden boss which has darkened with age so much you will need a torch to see it properly. There are several good walks going off from there passing Kelly House with its ancient brick grannary.

Three Hares of St Michaels Church, Chagford.

I have just been into St Michael.s Church in Chagford to see the unusual sight of all the bells down on the ground inside the church. They have just been cleaned and are waiting to be placed back in the bell tower. I took this picture of one of the two Three Hares bosses that are in the beautiful church which is well worth a visit!
